SCHOOL DISTRICT INFORMATION/OVERVIEW
Harrison School District 36 is located in Wonder Lake, (McHenry County) Illinois. The District operates one school for grades Pre-K - 8 and is located at 6809 McCullom Lake Road, Wonder Lake, IL. The District office is at the same address. The District operates by locally developed policies and conforms to state established standards regulated by ISBE and other intermediate agencies.

PURPOSE
District personnel are employed to educate students in grades Pre-K - 8 in basic skills, which are meaningful to social, physical, mental and educational development and are adopted as a component of the educational program and local curriculum. The emphasis is to deliver the BEST possible educational experiences for local youngsters that District resources will provide.

PHILOSOPHY
Every effort will be made to provide the best possible educational program within the financial limitations of the school district. We hope that all members of our total school community will look upon our school with PRIDE and strive to accomplish goals, which meet our unique school district needs. Improvement in all areas of operation will be a constant goal. We are here to serve you!

EMPLOYEES
The District currently employs 29 certified staff members, 12 educational aides, and 11 classified employees. Special Service personnel hired on a purchased service basis through the SEDOM Special Education Co-op, add an additional 5 employees to the full time equivalent certificated staff.

Kindergarten age - Students must be five years old-on or before September 1 of the current year to enroll, as per Illinois law. Early admission to Kindergarten and Grade One are not options under local board policy. First graders must be 6 years old on or before September 1.

Proof of district residence (driver's license or occupancy permit) is required for non-tuition students enrolling in the district. Students who move out during the school year may continue to attend our school without paying tuition until the end of the school year following the change of location.

Students need physicals prior to Pre-K, Kindergarten or first grade admission and prior to fifth grade admission. THOSE NOT SUBMITTING COMPLETED PHYSICAL & IMMUNIZATION FORMS WILL BE EXCLUDED FROM SCHOOL UNTIL THIS STATE REQUIREMENT IS MET.
