The District strives to provide a safe and reliable transportation system. Should a student create a negative or unsafe condition he/she may be suspended from the bus and lose transportation privileges.
- Be on time at the bus stop,
- Stay off the road while waiting.
- Respect for the people and their yards where your bus stop is located.
- Form a single line at the bus stop.
- Be sure the bus is stopped before entering.
- Sit no more than three (3) students per seat and in the assigned seats.
- Always keep hands and head inside bus and remain seated at all times.
- Screaming and shouting are prohibited.
- Do not leave your seat while riding.
- Be courteous to everyone on the bus.
- In case of emergency remain in your seat and listen to the driver.
- Keep aisles clear at all times.
- Ride your own bus and get off at the proper bus stop.
- Written parent requests for temporary routing changes are to be delivered to the bus driver in advance.
- If students are not to ride the bus home after school a parent's note explaining alternate plans MUST go to the homeroom teacher in the morning. Absent this note, the child must ride the assigned bus home daily. NO PHONE CALLS WILL BE ACCEPTED DURING THE SCHOOL DAY TO CHANGE BUS PLANS.
- Food and drinks are not allowed on the bus.
- Destruction of bus seats will result in restitution.
The rules are for the safety of everyone. Hopefully bus-related problems can be kept to a minimum through cooperation and courtesy! Any student not following bus rules will be brought to the Administration. Appropriate consequences will be handed out for improper behavior on the bus. These consequences may include but are not limited to detentions; in school suspensions; bus suspensions, and out of school suspensions.
BUS ACCIDENT POLICY
In the event of a bus accident, non-injured students (as determined by emergency personnel) will be released to school officials for dismissal from the school. Injured students will be transported to a hospital emergency room.
PRE-K INFORMATION
No Pre-K student will be dropped off at their bus stop if a parent/adult is not present to greet them. The student will be brought back to school and the parent will be contacted to come and pick up the student at the Front Office.
Students are not permitted to walk or ride their bike to school or any school sponsored events. Students breaking this rule will be issued a consequence and their parents will be notified.
